Evolve is leading the field in championing ways to help unlock Malta’s huge business potential in Africa.

In the latest initiative, the company has been working with the Ghana Standards Authority to help strengthen commercial ties and trade.

Members of the authority recently paid a visit to Malta to better understand our quality and standards procedures. They visited a number of Evolve clients and spent time with our talented team of Field Service Engineers.
One such visit was to the head offices of AquaBioTech Group at Targa Gap near Mosta. They have been Evolve customers for a number of years and were gracious enough to host us, show us around their facilities and take us on a walk-through of their processes.

The Ghana Standards Authority is a government agency under the ministry of trade and industry and is responsible for facilitating trade, promoting industrial growth, and ensuring consumer protection. It does this through standardization (developing, publishing and promoting standards), conformity assessment (testing, inspection and certification) and metrology to ensure that products, goods and services originating from Ghana are safe, reliable and are of good quality.

Evolve has worked with AquaBioTech Group over the years in its aquaculture, fisheries and other aquatic sciences business, including a major project in the United Arab Emirates.

The Marine Biology Centre of Excellence in Umm Al Quwain was part of the UAE’s plans to develop a complex in the region for research and development into bio-science technology and marine science.

The centre is dedicated to examine sea life in general, and study marine environment pollutants, as well as to increase fish production.

AquaBioTech Group designed the entire aquaculture facility whilst Evolve partnered with them to supply the laboratories.

Staff working at AquaBioTech Group are all considered specialists in their relevant area of work and the company has sought to create a multi-national team of more than 115 in-house experts from more than 35 countries that have a variety of backgrounds and experiences.

Evolve business account manager Zachary Muscat, who led the visit to the Targa Gap premises, said: ‘At Evolve, we believe Maltese aquaculture has a vital role to play in producing world-renowned healthy and quality seafood, and we are committed to supporting the sector achieve more sustainable food production and protection of the environment.’
