Malta’s fastest growing science company is championing a new initiative to help unlock Malta’s business potential in Africa.
Evolve’s involvement in a series of webinars will aim to strengthen commercial ties between Malta and Ghana.
The ‘Insights’ webinars have been organised by business strategist Nadia Pace and Weave Consulting founder Dr Roberta Lepre, with support from Evolve and Trade Malta.
Evolve managing director Christopher Busuttil Delbridge said the weekly online seminars, starting on October 1, will discuss investment and export opportunities and engage with representatives and government agencies in Ghana.
He said: ‘We know that companies who trade internationally tend to be more innovative, more productive and more competitive, all of which is great for our economy.
‘We also know that implementing an international strategy can be a bit daunting. In these situations, the best advice comes from those who already have experience of doing business overseas. That’s why I’m delighted to be involved.’
A recent Deloitte study found that Africa is fast becoming a magnet for international capital.
Six of the world’s 10 fastest growing economies of the past decade are in sub-Saharan Africa, where an emergent middle class is driving demand for consumer goods and services.
That strong consumer demand, aligned with annual growth of about 8 per cent, added more than $1.1 trillion to African GDP during 2019, with Ghana, Ethiopia and Uganda among the fastest expanding markets.

Mr Busuttil Delbridge added: ‘As a science-led business, Evolve has partnered with the healthcare, pharmaceutical and industrial sectors in Ghana but there are many other growth areas where Malta has key strengths such as IT, communications, food and drink, life sciences and aid funded business.
‘The High Commission of Malta in Accra has also been instrumental in its guidance and support for Maltese companies that are exploring opportunities in Ghana.
‘Our experience tells us that business people in Ghana are keen to engage internationally with innovative and entrepreneurial companies which will help them grow and develop.
‘At all the trade missions and business summits we have attended, Ghanaian delegates have been impressed by the sheer capability of companies in Malta thanks to our skilled workforce and our shared tradition and values as members of the Commonwealth.
‘Maltese companies have always been outward looking and have an excellent track record overseas.’
