Anusha Tammana is the sales coordinator in our Scientific and Industrials Department at Evolve.
She has been with the company for over a year, after moving to Malta from India.
Anusha has a Masters in Pharmacy (Pharmaceutical Analysis and Quality Assurance), and her husband Ravi also works with us as a Chromatography Specialist.
We caught up with Anusha to find out more about her role at Evolve and her passions in life.
What do you value about working at Evolve?
Leaving my home country was a big decision but I can certainly say that I made a good move by coming to Malta and joining the team at Evolve. The company culture is positive, open and friendly and I’m able to work in a pressure-free environment. My manager and workmates have supported me a lot, both personally and professionally. Evolve has become another family for me, away from India.
How would you describe your job to someone who doesn’t know anything about what you do?
I’m the link between our customers and our administration team. I manage the relationship between both, making sure that client orders are properly understood, correctly processed and then get delivered on time. I keep the customer fully in the loop throughout the whole process. I deal with all kinds of clients, from education and pharma labs to food manufacturers and oil companies.
What would you do if you weren’t at Evolve?
I’d probably be working as an Analytical Research Scientist in the pharmaceutical industry.
If you could change one thing about the world, what would it be?
That’s a difficult question. I think the world would be better and more peaceful if everyone was truly equal. No rich, no poor, just equal.
What is the best piece of advice you have ever received?
The best advice I was told was whatever you want to do, be determined. Don’t give up. Keep trying and be confident.
Who is your all-time hero?
My father, who had a hard life but stayed positive. He was a wonderful husband to my mother and a great father to his kids. I learned so much from him.
What would surprise people about you?
People are surprised about my culture. Being born in India, where we believe in unity in diversity, we have so many religions that follow different traditions. We are all taught that tradition is a valuable treasure given to us by our ancestors.
Which three things would you take to a desert island?
A water purifier so I am able to drink sea water, a good fishing kit and a big box of matches.
What is your favourite holiday destination?
It has to be Switzerland. I would definitely recommend a holiday there if you love stunning scenery. It’s such a beautiful country with mountains, lovely little villages and so much greenery. I’m hoping to go back there on holiday with my husband next year.
What is your favourite dish?
Indian cuisine. I grew up in India so I have strong affection towards Indian cuisine, and I absolutely love tamarind rice.
What is your golden rule?
I believe in hard work and never giving up. If you work hard, you can get anything in this world. Persevere, put in the effort and be determined.
